\u2022 Koolhydraten zijn uiterst belangrijk voor goede sportprestaties.Het zijn namelijk zeer belangrijke \u201cenergiebronnen\u201d voor de skeletspieren tijdens langdurige en\/of intensieve trainingen zoals bij duursporten of intensieve intermitterende sporten zoals bij voetbal.
\n\u2022 Na een wedstrijd, een intensieve- of langeduurtraining zijn de koolhydraten, in onze spieren voorkomend onder de vorm van \u201cspiersuiker of glycogeen\u201d, uitgeput.
\n\u2022 Om een volgende wedstrijd of training in \u201coptimale\u201d omstandigheden te kunnen aanvatten moeten de glycogeenvoorraden zo snel mogelijk terug hersteld worden.
\n\u2022 Snel herstel van het spierglycogeen.
\n\u2022 Direct na stopzetting van de inspanning bevinden onze spieren zich in een \u2018ideale\u201d situatie om snel glycogeen op te bouwen. Dit komt door, een verhoogde insuline-gevoeligheid, een verhoogde glycogeensynthetase activiteit en een verhoogd transport van glucose vanuit de bloedbaan naar de spiercel via het GLUT-4-eiwit in de spiercelmembraan.
\n\u2022 Door deze \u201cideale\u201d metabole situatie verloopt de glycogeenresynthese tot ongeveer twee uur na inspanning het snelst. Hier moet een sporter \u201cslim\u201d gebruik van maken, door na de wedstrijd of training zo snel mogelijk voldoende koolhydraten in te nemen.
\n\u2022 Uit onderzoek is gebleken dat het beste resultaat bekomen wordt door onmiddellijk na de inspanning 1,2 gram koolhydraten per kg
\nlichaamsgewicht in te nemen, en dit na 2, 4 en 6 uur na de inspanning te herhalen. Uiteindelijk moet de sporter trachten 8 \u00e0 10 gram koolhydraten per 24 uur in te nemen. De eerste twee innames gebeuren bij voorkeur in vloeibare vorm omdat zo de opname van koolhydraten, eiwitten en water het snelst gebeurt.
\n\u2022 Uit recente studies blijkt dat, wanneer aan een koolhydraatmengsel eiwitpeptiden en aminozuren(leucine en fenylalanine) toegevoegd worden, het herstel sneller gaat. Door na de inspanning een \u201ckoolhydraat \u2013 eiwitmengsel\u201d te gebruiken zijn er kleinere hoeveelheden koolhydraten per uur nodig om toch een optimaal herstel te bekomen(+\/- 0,8 \u00e0 1 gram KH per kg lichaamsgewicht).
\n\u2022 Snel spierherstel na wedstrijd of training
\n\u2022 Een bijkomend voordeel van de toevoeging van eiwitten is dat het spierherstel en de spieropbouw na wedstrijd of training versneld wordt. RECUP-SHAKE is zo\u2019n mengeling van koolhydraten en eiwitpeptiden.<\/p>\n
